Photoshop Chocolate Text Effect
Learn how to create a Chocolate Text Effect in Photoshop. Photoshop has many patterns that can be applied to text, one of which is the waffle pattern. By giving it a brown color, we can use the waffle pattern to give a touch of chocolate effect. To apply a pattern, you should choose a wide font so that the pattern in it can be seen clearly. Meanwhile, to style the text, we can use Bevel & Emboss, Texture and Stroke effects.

Step 1: Create new document

Select menu File>New to create a new document. In the New dialog box, enter the name of your document, fill in the resolution 300 and then click OK.

Step 2: Add background color

Set foreground/background color. We will use a Linear Gradient with a Foreground to Background color. Click the foreground box. 
Click the top box to change the foreground color and the bottom box to change the background color.

In the color picker box, please select your color. I'm going to choose a dark brown color with values ​​R:41, G:28, B:0.

Then click the background box. In the color picker box for the background I will choose a color with values ​​R:104, G:69, B:43.

Next, click on the gradient tool icon. 
Gradient Tool icon. If you don't find the gradient tool icon, right-click on the Paint Bucket Tool or 3D Material Drop Tool to display other icons.

In the options bar for the gradient tool, select the foreground to background and click the Linear Gradient icon. 
In the option bar select foreground to background and linear gradient (circled in blue).

Apply a gradient to the document, click the document and then drag in the direction you want to give it a color. I'll click from the left of the document then drag to the right.
Click then drag to apply the gradient color.

Step 3: Type your Text

For this tutorial I'll be using the large Cooper Black font. You can choose another font of course. Click the Horizontal Type Tool icon. For this Photoshop text effect tutorial I'm going to choose in the options bar the font type Cooper Black and a dark brown color with values ​​R:62, G:31, B:0.

Then click on document and start typing your text. When finished typing, press Ctrl+Enter. Use the Free Transform command to set the text size. How to press Ctrl + T. You will see a Free Transform box around the text. While holding down the Shift key, click the corner of the Free Transforms box and then drag out to increase the text size or drag in to reduce the text size. To adjust its position, press the keyboard arrow keys. Once satisfied with the size and position of the text, press Ctrl+Enter. 
Type text.

The layer palette will create a text layer with the name of the text you typed.
A background layer and a Brown text layer will be formed.

Step 4: Style the text

Click the text layer to activate it. Then select the menu Layer> Layer Style> Bevel & Emboss. In Bevel & Emboss, fill in size: 10 pixels and Style: Inner Bevel. Click Texture under Bevel & Emboss.

Click the pattern arrow to select a waffle pattern. If the waffle pattern doesn't exist yet, click on the gear icon on the right to add a pattern. In the menu that appears, select pattern.

A question dialog box will appear to replace the pattern. Click the Append button to add a pattern to an existing pattern. 
Click Append to add a pattern to an existing pattern.

After the pattern is added, the waffle pattern appears. 
Select the Waffle pattern.

Fill in the scale: 200 and tick Invert. For more details you can see the pictures below.

Next click Stroke to give a stroke effect. Fill in size: 13 pixels, position: outside and click the color box to choose the stroke color you want.

After setting the bevel & emboss, texture and stroke, we are done with our brown text effect. The settings above are just examples. Adjust the settings for your needs.
