Vintage Old Photo Effect in Photoshop

Vintage Old Photo Effect in Photoshop
Learn how to make a Vintage Old Photo Effect in Photoshop. The trick is to give a sepia color to the photo using a gradient map. This way, the sepia color will be applied to a separate layer so it doesn't spoil your original photo. The last step is to change the gradient map's blend mode from normal to color.

Step 3: Select Sepia Color (dark brown)

After creating a gradient map, a properties box for the gradient map will appear. Click the edit gradient drop down menu (see picture circled in blue) to display the gradient editor.
Click to edit the gradient.

In the gradient editor click Preset Black to White. Click the color stop slider on the bottom left then click change color to call the color picker.
Select Black & White then choose a sepia color.

In the color picker choose brown or you can enter the code #ca8f31. Click OK. At this point the color of your photo should have changed to sepia.
Choose dark brown/sepia.

Step 4: Change the Blend Mode to Color

Change the vintage layer's blend mode from normal to color. So far, we have finished our vintage effect photos. In addition you can add vignette to the photo.
